The first step in finishing your new level is to contact us. You will be greeted by a professional representative who will arrange your free in-home consultation.
In your Home
The main reason for the initial visit is to gain a full understanding of your needs for the space: how you will use your new level? Your basement designer will share our viewpoint around how your new basement or attic addition should flow, the overall design of the new level, and our unique design/build experience! We want the space to be an additional level of your home and flow perfectly. If we seem like a good match, then we’ll move forward to the design process!
In your Home – If time allows your designer may measure your space during your first meeting. If not, we can come back out at another time to do all the necessary measuring and surveying. As an example, where are the water-lines, the electric loads, structural issues etc.
As Built: Your designer will spend an hour to two hours in the proposed space creating an exact “as-built” look & feel of the new living space. We replicate your exact specs and layout, creating an exact computer drawing of where all structural and mechanical elements are in your basement. Then we go to work for you!
Within 2 weeks from our initial meeting
Starting with the as-built, your design team will have worked out several plans which capture the smartest and most effective design for the space. This is when our years of experience really bears fruit. We will show you functional ideas that you’ve probably never even considered! Be ready to provide us with your “wish list” of what you would like to see in this new living area. You are an important part of the design team and by incorporating your feedback we will take the best elements to create the best plan for your needs. With regards to your budget, we will keep that top of mind throughout the meeting to ensure that we are designing a space that meets all your budget expectations and limitations.
Renderings: The renderings we will provide will be a great help in visualizing how your new living space will look when finished. It will give you a sense of space and proportion. The elevations of a space allow a vantage which is impossible on a blueprint. Once, we are in full agreement with all the functionalities, budgets, and timelines your project will really starts to become real.
Within 3-4 weeks from our initial meeting
We will now analysis final construction drawings and the menu of pricing options. Within the construction drawings you will see all detailed elements of the project. Full elevations and construction notes are finalized. Within the pricing menu you will see how, and which design elements effect the cost of the project. In this meeting, we bring the design & budget together, select a construction start date for your project and execute construction agreements.
Construction of your new living space will take between 7 and 16 weeks depending upon the scope of work and the complexity of your project. You will receive a construction calendar and updates during the project.
Expectations During Construction:
- Your project manager runs all facets of construction. Closely teamed with your designer, the project manager will let you know exactly what will be happening on a regular basis. They will give you updates and set up regularly scheduled meetings to review any critical design details.
- We will attempt, in every way possible, to minimize the impact on in your home during the construction. We go through great lengths to ensure maximum dust protection and exterior weather effects on your living space as well.
- We always do our best to ensure that your project will start and finish on time…guaranteed!

- We will provide for daily job site clean-up. There is never a mess at the end of the day.
